Nintendo Switch: Update Data Maintenance Scheduled For 20 April

Apart from adding new titles to the console, Nintendo also keeps on working with its servers to improve the overall gaming experience on its Switch console. The company recently added a future scheduled maintenance to its network status page. The maintenance reads “Distribution of update data” and is scheduled for Monday, 20th April 6pm – 8pm PT. Sadly, we don’t have much information on the maintenance and what it is about.

Nintendo Switch Scheduled Maintenance Later this Month

Looking at the network status page, the company mentioned that network services might not be available during the maintenance window. Apart from this, it is unclear what it will bring to the table. It is worth mentioning that this doesn’t mean we will some major firmware updates or some exciting features. It might just be a server improvement in order to improve the gameplay experience.

With that said, it is recommended to not play any gaming titles or purchase through eShop during the scheduled timing. To recall, Nintendo earlier this month rolled out a firmware update bringing the system to version 9.2.0. The previous firmware update brought lots of stability to the handheld console. If the company reveals more information on the maintenance, we will make sure to keep this story updated.

On another note, Nintendo is currently hosting Spring Sale 2020 in the European region offering more than 300 gaming titles with up to 80% discount. Furthermore, Nintendo is currently facing some shipping and stock issues in Japan due to the coronavirus outbreak.
