Mobile Games revenue has risen 35% since February

According to the latest report shared by AppsFlyer, the overall Mobile Games revenue has risen 35% since February. The information was found via an update to the mobile marketing analytics report on “The Coronavirus (COVID-19) impact on app installs and marketing budgets”, beginning February 25th, 2020. The results were quite positive for the overall mobile gaming market.

The report states that casual games and social casinos rose 35% since the first week of the investigation. Moreover, they’ve shown a further 12-16% increase since the sixth week. When it comes to Hardcore gaming revenue, the market saw a 17% increase from the week of April 23rd. It then follows a drop of 13% the week prior. Those are great results but that’s not a great surprise. After all, with more people staying at home during the past few weeks, mobile games are among the best ways to kill boredom.

AppsFlyer’s examination to reach this result was “the weekly percentage of app installs and sessions per country, per vertical”. This was then “normalized” by dividing the weekly share of installs/sessions/revenue by the overall number of installs/sessions/revenue throughout the entire period.

App revenue also rises

The report also states the overall App Revenue has raised during these days of quarantine. According to the report, it grew 7% since week six. The usage, however, continued its gradual ascent increasing 28% since the first week. When it comes to the download activity, it has raised 20% since week one.

Since we’re talking about apps, another report from Adjust states that mobile game downloads have seen a rise of 75% during the first quarter of 2020. It’s a huge increase if we compare it with the same period last year.

Things should continue to progress positively as the quarantine continues in several countries.
