Here is the first look of GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition

A few days back, Rockstar Games broke the news that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy is getting a definitive edition. Although, only a teaser was published which showed no gameplay. Finally, now we get to see some in-game action with a full trailer. Spoiler alert, it is currently having mixed reactions. But we will get to our thoughts later. Together with the trailer, Rockstar Games also announced the release date and price of GTA: The Trilogy. The game will be out on all major platforms including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Series X/S consoles, PC, Android, and iOS.

The game will be available digitally for PC and consoles on November 11th. There will also be a physical release scheduled for December 7th. iOS and Android platforms will get the game sometime in the first half of 2022.  The game is priced at $59.99, which is a pretty heft price tag for a remastered game. The trailer shows hows the game looks like. There is an improved lighting system together with other graphical improvements. It is also to be noted that the game is made on Unreal Engine.

Opinions on GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition

That being said, let’s move to our thoughts on the game. Last year, we saw Mafia: Definitive Edition, which was a remake of the 2002 original Mafia. Now, you must understand that a remake is different than a remaster. Mafia: Definitive Edtion was much improved, as it was a remake. However, with the GTA title, we are getting a remastered version. It mostly means better graphical improvements and we can see it on the trailer. Although, there are some other improvements too. Like Grand Theft Auto V-inspired controls and device-specific controls like Gyro support on Nintendo Switch.

Overall, I am fine with the game itself considering it is a remastered version, not a remake. However, I am not still a fan of the hefty price tag. I hope that the mobile port is cheaper.
