We have seen loads of popular gaming franchises making their way to mobile. Take Apex Legends Mobile, Call Of Duty Mobile, and recently announced Rainbow Six Mobile as examples. No developer wants to leave behind their presence on mobile and EA is no different. Their popular shooter franchise Battlefield was announced to make its debut on smaller screens. We finally have more information about the game’s release which was discussed in Electronic Arts’ quarterly financial conference call for analysts and investors.
Battlefield Mobile can launch this year
Andrew Wilson, the Chairman, and CEO of EA updated us on their upcoming AAA title on mobile devices. He said:
Right now, I think we’re looking at going into further testing at the end of May and then subject it to the metrics and the data that we’ve seen and the engagement we’ve seen. We might look toward the end of this year, beginning of next year for a global launch.
We don’t have any money in FY ’23 right now against that title. So if it was to launch in the year, that would be upside potential for us. And we want to allow ourselves to ensure that the game has all the soft launch and closed beta that it needs to tune and balance. But having played the game, I can tell you, I think that we’re excited about the potential.
The above statement gives us a clear idea about the potential game’s release. If things go right with beta testing, expect the game to be released later this year. Otherwise, Battlefield Mobile will come out on smartphones in early 2023. But the good news is that players will still get a sneak peek of the game from the beta builds. Battlefield Mobile will start a beta test this month.
We have seen how EA takes things slow with Apex Legends Mobile. The developer took almost a year of beta testing in different regions before the actual launch. That being said, make sure to stick around for more mobile gaming updates.
