Anyone who subscribes to the new PS Plus Deluxe plan will have access to a catalog of PS1, PS2, and PSP classics. After this news, the community was excited about the possibility of visiting old games and unlocking trophies. However, according to Sony, this will depend on the devs.
Just as Bend Studio tried to implement the feature in Siphon Filter, each of the other studios will be responsible for presenting the functionality in their works present in the catalog. The Japanese giant clarified this on the PS Blog after the service debuted in Asia.
“Will the original PlayStation and PSP games from the PS Plus classic games catalog offer trophies? Some original PlayStation and PSP titles may offer trophies, such as Ape Escape, Hot Shots Golf, IQ Intelligent Qube, and Siphon Filter. This feature is optional for developers.”
That way, we can only wait for future updates to the classic ports. Maybe more devs don’t move around and unlock trophies, right? Currently, players are partially disappointed with the list of classic games. However, we expect the company to add more titles soon. Currently, the PS1 classic Syphon Filter has full support for trophies. Wild Arms also provides support. This will certainly add some appeal for those who love to hunt Platinum trophies.
