Forspoken will not bring microtransactions

The ESRB, the US age rating body, listed Forspoken in early February. It has been suggested that the RPG could contain microtransactions. Much mystery has been made since then. Now, however, Square Enix has officially confirms the title will not have the feature. Every trailer has shown a game that focuses on the single-player experience. However, it’s good to hear that Square-Enix will not ruin the game with unnecessary microtransactions.

The words don’t come directly from the Japanese publisher but from issue #344 of GameInformer magazine (via “ZXtheD“). In an article on page 43, it is possible to see a caption confirming the release of a DLC (potentially paid); However, it also confirms the absence of in-game purchases.

Forspoken

Back the last Wednesday (25), Square Enix’s new bet was also listed by PEGI, the European rating body, for over 18s. As with the ESRB, the description suggested that the game would have microtransactions: “strong language, alcohol use, and in-game purchases” — but now the information has been debunked as the last resort.

In Forspoken, the protagonist must learn to use her powers in a world full of dangers called Athia. In this universe full of fantastical monsters of the most varied, players will embark on an adventure full of breathtaking challenges. Its debut is scheduled for October 11 on PS5 and PC.
