During the recent Pokemon Presents broadcast on Wednesday, we got a detailed look at the Paldea region. That’s right, the new region that players will get to explore in Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet. Until now, the name of the region was kept a secret. But now, we have a much closer look at the new region together with its aerial view map. Obviously, the map of the region plays a vital role in a Pokemon game. It must be fun so that players don’t get bored while exploring. Moreover, it is more important as this is the first Pokemon game to be completely open-world.
A colorful new region inspired by the Iberian Peninsula
As the rumors suggested, the region resembles the Iberian Peninsula. Hence, there are a lot of similarities of Spain and Portugal in the Paldea region. Ofcourse, the map is kept vibrant with a variety of environments. There is a big swirling hole in the center, while the capital city named Mesagoza is situated in the south side. Apparently, that is where the game will start. Players will start their journey with one of two schools named Naranja Academy and Uva Academy. Scarlet players will get to join Naranja Academy, while the Violet players gets Uva Academy.
From the aerial view, we can see a lot of different environments. More importantly, it has a lot of similarities to Pokemon Arcane. The official site’s describes the Paldea region as “a land of vast open spaces dotted with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, and perilous mountain ranges.” In my opinion, the Paldea region looks breathtaking, especially with the rivers flowing, snowy peaks, and other lush environments. That being said, let us know your opinions on the new region in the comments below.
