New Spyro game is reportedly in development

The Spyro the Dragon franchise will be turning 25 in 2023 and it looks like Toys For Bob is cooking up something to celebrate the occasion. Speculation began, as the developer published a new art on its social media where you can see the little purple dragon in the upper left corner.

The 2023 greeting card also features other characters related to the studio, such as the Ghost from Call of Duty. In addition, there are promises of a “big movement” for this year. Check out:

Hello 2023

The first Spyro the Dragon debuted on PS1 in 1998 and won over critics with its platforming style of play. The most recent release was the remastered trilogy for the PS4 in 2018 – which was even produced by Toys For Bob itself. The remaster has the same style as the Crash Bandicoot N’Sane Trilogy remaster. In fact, some even consider this a full-fledged remake in terms of graphics and gameplay.

It is worth remembering that during The Game Awards 2022, the North American studio also announced Crash Team Rumble, a multiplayer with Crash Bandicoot characters for 2023. Could the little dragon be one of the playable options there?

So far, nothing has been confirmed, but the new Spyro title is open for speculation. The Crash Trilogy was a good re-started for the series. Due to the good reception, we saw the launch of Crash 4: It’s About Time!. Maybe the same will happen for Spyro.
