The Good Life developer says players should pay for updates

Hidetaka, the CEO of White Owls, and developer of The Good Life made a “controversial” post on Twitter recently. According to him, players should not complain about paying more for extra content in their favorite games.

His post had over 450k views and obviously many community members disagree with the developer’s point of view. Because of this, he even closed the comments so that no one else could give a hint about his opinion about the DLCs. Check it out below:

The Good Life

In the comments, the person responsible for the company heard a few good things. “When games receive an improvement in stability we shouldn’t be charged for it,” wrote one of the netizens. Perhaps this has to do with the poor reception of The Good Life fans towards the last DLC revealed, which will arrive in March. The comment of the developer certainly will generate a huge backlash from players. Of course, players are complaining about the price of DLC, but the big issue is that it also brings stability improvements. The game had some issues, and these kinds of issues need to be patched via an update.

In the past, before the digital era, it was impossible to patch a game. If a bug escaped the testing, then nothing could ever be done. Nowadays, the situation is different. However, this also ended up in developers rushing the release of games. After all, they can deploy buggy games to meet release schedules and launch patch updates to fix the bugs.

The Good Life DLC is detailed by the company

“Behind the Secret of Rainy Woods”, the new DLC for The Good Life, will have new missions and will take Naomi on an unprecedented adventure where revelations about Rainy Woods promise to entertain players. We are curious to see if The Good Life will get a second chance through this update.
