Remember the days when we used to be afraid of not saving game data in our GBA consoles? Well, it was a pain worse than a breakup. That said, there is a new bug that can completely corrupt your saved data on Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Moreover, this is not a bug that appeared in the previous versions of the game rather it appeared after the new update.
The players reported the issues on the r/PokemonScarletViolet subreddit. First stated by a user named MatthewCBayer, a bug has appeared that happens if players are connected to Pokemon Go. This feature was brought after the 1.2.0 version update. Moreover, the bug also appears to some users that used the postcard to obtain Vivillon. Their game saves files got corrupted, and unreadable. The only solution was to reinstall the game for the digital copy or switch to a different Nintendo Switch.
This bug also affected a few users who bought the new DLC. There was a preorder bonus for the new DLC, and some players with the bonus also got the gift of corrupted data. A dozen players have reported this issue, even resulting in a 500+ hour file being corrupted. Obviously, this is a nightmare for gamers. Imagine capturing your favorite shiny Pokmeon after hours of hunting and suddenly your game gets corrupted. At the time of writing, Pokemon has not acknowledged this issue. Hopefully, we will see their response soon.
Scarlet and Violet: Good luck or bad luck for Pokemon?
This is not the only issue that Scarlet and Violet’s fans are facing. The game even received backlash because of performance issues. This is one of the most successful games in Pokemon history but the performance issues and glitches remain a big problem of the game. That said, make sure to stick around for the latest gaming updates.
