Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is being developed under the codename “Sparking! Zero!

During the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2023 event, Bandai Namco surprised fans with the highly-anticipated Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4. As per new reports, the new Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi game is in development. It currently carries the codename “Sparking Zero”.

This beloved series has a long-standing history, dating back to the PS2 era. It got a massive following in the gaming community. The third game, in special, has a myriad of fans and there are several MODs across the web. When it comes to the new game, Bandai Namco is yet to disclose more details such as launch platforms and other game details.  For now, fans can enjoy the announcement teaser trailer that was revealed during the event and feel excited about it.

Bandai Namco is yet to confirm the name of the upcoming game. However, an insider may have leaked the title for the game’s overseas launch. As per a deleted video by YouTuber Marty_japan (thanks to DBSChronicles), the new Budokai Tenkaichi game boasts the codename “Sparking! Zero!”.

Many people who played the earlier games in the series have a special place in their hearts for the “Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi” franchise. It is famous for its large selection of playable characters, including their alternate forms. Moreover, it has a unique fighting system that matches the game’s 3D camera angles and animation style. The game’s comeback will bring back fond memories for long-time fans. It will also provide an exciting new experience for new fans.

The only thing that is concerning some old-school fans is the current model for fighting games. Well, nowadays fighting games does not come with a lot of characters. They come with a certain amount, and more are added to the game via DLCs. This model would break one of the main appeals of the Budokai Tenkaichi series. In the third entry, there was a large number of fighters, and you could easily unlock more just by progressing through the story. Hopefully, we won’t see another Dragon Ball FighterZ that launched with a super small list of fighters and got several DLC fighters.
