We were not expecting to see a sudden announcement of Counter-Strike 2. Finally, the first-person shooter franchise is getting a new title. This is big news for the gaming community as Counter-Strike has an impact on everybody. I still remember the day I built my PC, the first thing I did was play CS: GO. Not because I love FPS games, but because of benchmark testing. The game is like a standard for testing the new PC builds; how many frames per second can it hit? Hence, the Counter-Strike franchise has had a huge impact on the gaming industry. Now that the CS 2 is announced, there are also scammers back in action. Apparently, the scammers are targeting the beta test users.
Don’t get scammed with the fake Counter-Strike 2 Beta Invites
Just hours after the announcement of Counter-Strike 2, the developer posted about the scammers in a Tweet. It turns out that scammers are reaching out to gamers and asking them to login into third-party sites to get Limited Access to Counter-Strike 2. However, these third-party sites are nothing but phishing methods that requires your Steam information. Once you enter the credentials of your Steam to those third-party sites, the scammer gets the information and your Steam account is hacked. The developer has clarified that there are no Limited Test Keys. The only possible way to be a part of the Counter-Strike 2 Beta Test is via CS: GO’s main menu.
Beware of scams. The only way to check for Limited Test access is to launch CS:GO through Steam and check the Main Menu.
Do not log into third party sites claiming to check your Steam account for access or offering Limited Test access or keys; there are no Limited Test keys.

It is really important to stay safe from such scams. Especially the Counter-Strike players, as some of the in-game goodies can cost more than six figures. Hence, the moment Counter-Strike 2 was announced, scammers thought of this as an opportunity and started fraudulent activity. Thankfully, the developer tweeted about it and warned the gamers.
The hype of the game is real, after all, it is a Counter-Strike game. However, it’s better not to fall into traps and wait for the official release. The good news is we are not far away from launch. Counter-Strike 2 is scheduled to launch in the summer of 2023 for PC.
