Candy Crush has a long history. The developer behind the game King was quick enough to launch it on mobile and instantly dominate the puzzle genre. Years after, the franchise is now owned by Activision Blizzard and it is enjoying more success than ever. 250 million gamers play it at least once monthly and the game has over 3 billion downloads so far. Quite a big number, right? Well, now the developer is all set to grow Candy Crush by launching the game on consoles.
Why is there a high possibility that Candy Crush Saga will come to Xbox?
Now, that Activision Blizzard is likely to be owned by Microsoft, it makes sense that their games come to Xbox. One more hint is that there is already a page for Candy Crush Saga made on Microsoft Rewards. At this stage, the game is listed as “not available.” This is a big hint that Candy Crush Saga may finally come to Xbox.
Another hint was given last year by Activision’s CEO. Bobby Kotick shared his thoughts about Candy Crush and the Activision Blizzard acquisition. He added that he would like to see players competing with each other on Candy Crush, a feature that Xbox could easily provide. However, it is also notable that Xbox has not officially announced it yet so we should wait and see. Currently, there is a lot of heat in the gaming community about the Activision Blizzard acquisition. Do you think that Microsoft will be able to acquire Activision Blizzard?
