Resident Evil 4: update patch will fix light issues on PS5

Yesterday was a great day for all Resident Evil 4 fans across the world. The remake has finally reached the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. All those who acquired the game are already playing, however, it seems that some are experiencing specific issues. CAPCOM certainly had its time to work on the game, but some issues always manage to escape internal testing. Some players on the PS5 are experiencing specific problems with the game’s light effects. The studio acknowledged this and is working on a patch.

The publisher sent an official statement to all the owners of the PS5 version of Resident Evil 4. According to Capcom, they rest assured that a new hotfix is coming soon.

“We’re aware of an issue where players may experience flickering lights at the bottom of the screen when playing the PS5 version of Resident Evil 4. Here are some temporary fixes we recommend. We intend to fix the issue in a future update and apologize for any inconvenience!”

In addition to this, the company brought a workaround that players can use to avoid issues. The company asks players to save and restart the game. If the problem persists, they should try the following options.

  • Turn off the Camera Depth of Field option
  • Disable the “motion blur” option in the camera settings

As we’ve said these are just some immediate workarounds to avoid the issue. For those who want a permanent fix that does not require you to disable certain options in the game, then it’s better to wait for an update patch. This is common for games nowadays, and Resident Evil 4 Remake is not an exception.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is already out for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S / X, and PC via Steam. The game brings a series of gameplay improvements and graphics overhauls. It honors the legacy of the 2005’s game but makes some changes here and there. According to reports, the game’s Mercenaries Mode will be soon added through a free DLC. The “Separate Ways“, on the other hand, should come later this year as a paid DLC.
