Activision Blizzard acquisition by Microsoft cleared by Japan’s regulators

The Japan Fair Trade Commission has revealed that they have no problem with the Activision Blizzard acquisition by Microsoft. In short, the $68. billion mega-deal got approval from Japan.

According to the official statement for JFTC, “The Japan Fair Trade Commission (hereinafter referred to as the “JFTC”) reviewed the transaction and reached the conclusion that the transaction is unlikely to result in substantially restraining competition in any particular fields of trade “. This is indeed a big win for Microsoft considering Japan is also home to Sony.
