With the rise of new Silent Hill games made in a collaboration between Konami and other companies, the rumors of new Metal Gear Solid games gained strength. In fact, there have been a couple of rumors pointing to the launch of remakes for the existing games in the series. The latest bit involves the Metal Gear Solid 3. According to journalist Andy Robinson, a remake of this game could be launched in 2024.
Answering a question about the possibility of Konami appearing at some of the 2023 game events, the journalist mentioned the remake. As per the post, besides the Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake, the franchise has more games to be “re-launched”. Taking a ride in the remakes, rumors have also been pointing to a remake for the first game of the series. Now, this post suggests that the third episode is also getting a remake. So, we should also expect the second game to be remade at some point.
Metal Gear Solid 3 is one of the many remakes
Back the last year, the Chinese Studio Virtuos shared a mysterious recruiting clip. In this post, it was possible to spot the book “The Art of Metal Gear Solid” on one of the studio’s artists’ desks. Sounds curious right? Well, that gave force to the rumors. We believe that Konami is playing a safe game by doing remakes for the Metal Gear Solid series. After all, doing a new game without Kojima’s involvement would not be the smartest route. Their Metal Gear Survive already proved the studio’s capabilities with the franchise.
Of course, none of these rumors has anything to do with the BlueBox’s Abandoned. To recall, this game was surrounded by controversies and some believed it was a joke for Kojima’s next project. However, it turned out to be a scam. After months, there is no sign of Abandoned, just vague promises.
So far, nothing concrete has been given regarding these remakes. So take this with a pinch or two of salt. Worth noting, that there is still hope for Metal Gear fans. After all, the upcoming Silent Hill games have been in the rumor mill for years, until their confirmation late last year.
