Each Final Fantasy as a Unique Book

Why would he do that? Well, sometimes new players get confused because they think they have to play all the previous games to understand what’s happening. It’s like reading a comic book series from the very beginning. But that’s not true! Each of the games has its own story and characters, so you can start with any game you want.

Yoshida talked to the people in charge of making the games and suggested removing the numbers. Instead, they could just give the games different names like “Final Fantasy Online” or something similar. That way, it would be easier for everyone to understand that each game is a separate adventure.

Mistaken Belief of Sequential Order

Right now, there’s a new game called Final Fantasy XVI that people are really excited about. You can even pre-order a special PlayStation 5 bundle for the game. So, even if they remove the numbers, Final Fantasy games will still be a lot of fun to play and enjoy!

Sometimes, when new players see a high number like that, they think they have to start from the very first game and play them all in order. It’s like thinking you have to read Book 1 before you can understand Book 16!

But that’s not true! Each of the games is its own exciting adventure with its own characters and story. You can think of them as different stories in a big library. You can pick any book you like and start reading. It doesn’t matter if it’s Book 1 or Book 16; you’ll still have a great time and understand what’s happening.
