Gotta Catch ‘Em All! Pokemon Showcases in Pokemon Go Will Blow Your Mind!

The Niantic phenomenon Pokémon Go is celebrating its seventh anniversary. The game with an innovative formula still has an active community which is also empowered by the success of the Pokémon series. Over the years, the game has been evolving and adding new features to keep users engaged. Today, a new feature is rolling out: content-like Showcases.

Pokémon Go Gets A New Interesting Feature

The new contents are hosted at specific PokéStops and act as local leaderboards for Pokémon with impressive stats. First up will be a contest to find and show off your biggest-sized Squirtle. Up to 200 Pokémon can be entered into any PokéStop Showcase, with in-game prizes offered for those who rank highly. That includes Premium Items such as the Star Pieces and Egg Incubators.

Once you enter, you can continue to improve your entry by switching out your Pokémon for one with better stats. The major idea behind the Showcase is to highlight certain Pokémons in an in-game event. With the new content, players have more reasons to go out and find unusual Pokémon.

Pokemon Showcases

The feature resembles the local leaderboards offered in developer Niantic’s newly-released but now on-halt NBA All-Stars app. After Pokémon Go, the company has been trying multiple ways to repeat the success with different themes. However, it’s a hard task. The company closed the NBA-themed game last week and laid off many of its employees. The company also canceled an upcoming Marvel game, and apparently, will concentrate most of its efforts/resources on Pokemon Go.

This Summer, the app released a number of new features to try and win over fans. These include Shadow Raids and the Master Ball. The company is also adding the route-mapping feature, it’s designed to let players suggest interesting Pokéwalks.

Obviously, we will see more features landing on the game. As we’ve said at the beginning of this article, the company will do its best to boost the game and keep players engaged with it.
