EA Sports’ most popular game series, FIFA, is being rebranded. EA Sports is dropping the FIFA branding in favor of the new FC branding. The new football gaming series, EA Sports FC, is expected to be released later this year. The inaugural game of the new series is named EA FC24. EA Sports will unveil more information about the game this Thursday in a live stream. But before that, they have dropped a bombshell: a cover art for the game that looks absolutely odd.
The cover art for the FC24 game was published on social media platforms. This cover art is for the premium-priced Ultimate Edition. While there will also be a standard edition, we will learn more about it in the upcoming live stream. For now, let’s take a look at the cover for the Ultimate Edition.
Spoiler alert: the cover art is not ultimate enough!
You know what they say – first impressions are lasting impressions. Well, considering EA Sports’ reputation and expertise, one might wonder why they opted for this cover art for their new game franchise.
Just look at the close-up faces of the players. The art style is very poor, to say the least. The cover art features a range of weird expressions from the players, including Son and Erling Haaland’s playful smirks, Marcus Rashford’s slightly off-center gaze, Marta’s intense stare, and Andrea Pirlo’s blank expression as he stands in a plain blue T-shirt, looking as though he has just stumbled upon the scene.
Another problem with the cover is that it has no legends. Where are Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Kylian Mbappé? For the Ultimate Edition, I would at least expect to see top players. Also, there seems to be no goalkeeper in the art. Why so cruel, EA Sports? Well, the Twitter community is also not happy with this art. Below you can see some of their reactions which I am sure you will be able to relate to.
The stars of The World’s Game are in the club.
