Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is so far one of the fan-fave games in the series. The freedom of being a pirate controlling your ship through the vast sea and battling against other ships has conquered players. Although the game is still very enjoyable, the rumors about a remake started to pop out in the past few months. With the game’s removal from Steam, the rumors reached their peak. Is Ubisoft preparing a reveal for a new vision for its iconic game? Apparently not.
Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Remake Launch is Not Happening
Black Flag’s disappearance from the Steam store led to speculation among fans. However, Ubisoft issued a statement to clarify the facts. According to the company, the game is simply unavailable to buy right now due to a “technical issue”. That does not mean there is a remake on the cards. Or at least not for now.
“We are aware that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag is currently unavailable for purchase on Steam,” a Ubisoft spokesperson told Eurogamer. “This is due to a technical issue, and our teams are working on a solution to bring it back as soon as possible.”

The rumors gained strength in the past months when Kotaku reported that a Black Flag remake was in the works. Kotaku is a large and very relevant portal, so this felt like a bomb for all fans of this game. According to the report, Skull & Bones studio Ubisoft Singapore was “heavily involved with the project”. However, the project was not expected to be completed for “at least a few years”.
As far as we know, Ubisoft is currently focusing on its announced roadmap for the series. It will be marked by the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Codename Red, Jade, and Hexe.
